Rose has experienced a broad brush of life being an experienced solicitor and landscape architect. These disciplines nurtured a fascination with the underlying geomorphology and form of New Zealand's landscapes and taught her the timeless principles of design. Rose has a unique way of seeing beauty and light.
Rose's love and appreciation for New Zealand' s landscape was fostered from a very young age by her adventurous father who was also a photographer.
One of the ways Rose feeds her creative imagination is by playing classical piano which nourishes her soul. Inner peace and creativity flows. Rose is satisfied when an image evokes emotions such as peace, grace, love and joy.
When in nature the sensation of nature's finery overwhelms Rose and an epiphany occurs. Through the art of photography Rose wants to recreate and disclose these moments. Art created from the mysterious place enlivens and inspires the spirit.
'I have made thousands of photographs of the natural scene, but only those visualizations that were most intensely felt at the moment of exposure have survived the inevitable winnowing of time. Some images are useful... but these certainly do not have the appeal or impact of the images that relate to external beauty and internal creative response." Ansel Adams
